The exercise machine, for muscle development, has the structure of a yacht sail winch with two hand cranks on a horizontal shaft. A direction change gear (7) is driven by a chain (6) or cogwheels, and an independent brake (8) allows rotation in only one direction. The brake is controlled by the rotary speed and torque registered by a rotation direction transmitter for a control unit (9).
