PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigation apparatus by which a road to be passed can be selected and instructed simply by a method wherein a road within a decided road selection range is selected and displayed and a road which is designated from the displayed road is route-searched preferentially as the road to be passed. SOLUTION: When a CPU 40 in a central processor 4 reads out a navigation program from an information storage device 3 so as to be started, a present- position detecting device 2 detects a present position. An input device 1 displays a peripheral map around the present position and the name of the present position. Then, a destination is set by using a telephone number, an address and the like, and a route up to the destination from the present position is searched. At this time a road selection range is decided on the basis of a starting point, a passage point and the destination, and a road within the road selection range is selected and displayed. Then, a road to be passed is designated and input from the road within the road selection range, the designated road is decided as a road to be passed, and a route is searched preferentially. Thereby, the road to be passed can be selected and designated simply. |
