PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for measuring the characteristics of a sample.SOLUTION: The system includes a diagnostic measurement device having a memory, and a diagnostic test strip 10 for collecting a sample. The test strip 10 includes a pattern indicating first data and second data. The first data represents at least one of: a parameter related to measurement of the characteristics of a sample; a code that can be used for the calibration of a diagnostic measurement device; or a parameter indicating a normal connection between the measurement device and test strip. The second data can be used for the detection and removal of a potential error that affects an accurate measurement of the characteristics of the sample.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
