摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and a manufacturing device for optical fiber that can secure a sufficient floating quantity of an optical fiber bare wire and precisely adjust a temperature of the optical fiber bare wire.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method includes a spinning process of forming an optical fiber bare wire 3 by fusing and spinning an optical fiber base material 2, a coating process of providing the optical fiber bare wire 3 with a coating layer made of resin at an outer periphery thereof, and a curing process of curing the coating layer to obtain an optical fiber 5. A direction converter 20 changes the direction of the optical fiber bare wire 3 at some positions between the spinning process and coating process. The direction converter 20 has a guide groove for guiding the optical fiber bare wire 3. A blowout hole for a liquid for floating the optical fiber bare wire 3 is formed in the guide groove. An outer diameter of the coating layer is measured and the position of the direction converter 20 is controlled according to a measured value of the outer diameter so as to adjust a length of the optical fiber bare wire 3 from a spinning part 10 to a coating part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
