摘要 A high strength concrete composition comprising cement, expanded perlite, aggregate, water in an amount corresponding to a water to cement ratio of about 0.25 to 0.35, and one or more chemical admixtures in an amount sufficient for workability. The composition exhibits typical compressive strengths in the range of about 10000 to about 14000 psi after 28 days. In addition, the composition exhibits extremely high heat resistance and low permeability. The composition is particularly suitable in applications such as runways and landing pads, anti-ballistic panels, and blast resistant walls, barriers, panels, and checkpoints. The enhanced strength allows lesser quantities of concrete to be used in the construction of highway, bridges, buildings, dams, and similar structures.
