WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXER

A wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing apparatus is provided to prevent characteristic degradations on a polarization surface by using an optical edge filter and an optical bandpass filter. A wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing apparatus has an angle formed by fixing two optical substrates(10,20) in a V-shape. A first filter(11) is arranged on an inner surface of the first substrate facing the V-shape space. A second filter(21) is disposed at an inner surface of the second substrate facing the V-shape space. The first and second filters are coupled with each other when the two substrates are fixed. A 3-wavelength multiplexed light(30) has a band separated by the first filter. A 2-wavelength multiplexed light(34) with two bands is induced to the second filter. A long-wave-transmission type optical edge filter is used as the first filter and an optical bandpass filter is used as the second filter. The 3-wavelength multiplexed light is incident at a regular angle to a normal line of the first filter.
