A fluorescence conversion medium which comprises: fine fluorescent particles comprising inorganic nanocrystals which absorb visible and/or near ultraviolet rays to emit visible fluorescence; and a transparent medium in which the fine fluorescent particles are dispersed. It has an absorbance of 0.1-1 at the wavelength at which the fluorescent intensity is maximum.
