摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an optical alignment film reduced in a DC residual image in a liquid crystal display device using an IPS system.SOLUTION: An alignment film 113 is formed with a two-layer structure of an optical alignment film 1131 capable of optical alignment and a low-resistance alignment film 1132 having smaller resistivity than that of the optical alignment film. The optical alignment film 1131 is formed of a polyimide prepared from polyamide acid alkyl ester as a precursor, has a large number molecular weight, and exhibits excellent alignment stability through the optical alignment. The low-resistance alignment film 1132 is formed of a polyimide prepared from polyamide acid as a precursor, and has a small number molecular weight and small resistivity. By forming the alignment film as the two-layer structure, the alignment film can be made small in resistivity as the whole alignment film while retaining excellent optical alignment properties, and accordingly a DC residual image can be suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
