<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode for a fuel cell enhancing output density, and to provide a membrane electrode assembly having the anode and a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The anode has a catalyst layer 11 including carbon particles carried with a catalyst and a proton conductive polymer in a weight ratio represented by formula (1): 1/2.5≤(W<SB>c</SB>/W<SB>p</SB>)≤1/1, wherein W<SB>c</SB>represents the weight of the carbon particles carried with catalyst and W<SB>p</SB>represents the weight of the proton conductive polymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
