<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter that reduces the occurrence of a harmonic current of an AC motor if there is a voltage difference when selecting a path between a plurality of DC power supplies and a motor, and that also reduces current ripples even in a mode in which one power supply is in power running, while the other is in regeneration. <P>SOLUTION: This power converter comprises: a means (44), which generates and synthesizes voltage pulses based on a command value of voltage pulse width using a plurality of switches; and a switch control means, which controls a plurality of the switches so as to charge at least one DC power supply, by changing over a mode 0, in which, when all switches of current flowing phases from the DC power supplies to the motor are at least in ON sate, a switch in the direction of conducting electric power from the motor to the positive electrode of the power supply is opened and the remaining DC power supplies are charged, and a mode 1, in which, when all switches of current flowing phases from the DC power supplies to the motor are at least in ON sate, a switch in the direction of conducting electric power from the motor to the positive electrode of the DC power supply concerned is turned on. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
