<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embodiment of a thin web having a plurality of channels extending through a film. <P>SOLUTION: The channels are in a substantially closed position but can be in an open position to allow a flow from the female side through the film to the male side. In a certain application, a greater pressure than the male side is applied to the female side, the channels can be opened. The embodiment also includes the thin web including a plurality of three-dimensional apertures extending through a plastic film. The apertures form a substantially closed channel defined by a sidewall, and the channels are disposed at an angle greater than 70 degree with respect to the female side of the film. The thin web may be the plastic film or a thermoplastic film including, for example, a polyolefin film or any other suitable material.
