PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing apparatus suppressing leakage of a developer. SOLUTION: The developing apparatus 11 includes: a housing 25 for accommodating a conveyance member for conveying a developer removed by a cleaning part and a gear 41 for driving the conveyance member; a driving shaft part 49 piercing the inside and outside of the housing 25 to transmit driving force from a driving source outside the housing 25 while coupling with the gear 41; and an oil seal 53 composed of hard rubber arranged in contact with the periphery of the driving axis part 49 on a position piercing the housing 25. The outer peripheral surface of the driving shaft part 49 is formed like a rugged shape in the axis direction with respective prescribed heights matched with the rugged shape, and the inner peripheral surface of the oil seal 53 is formed like a rugged shape complementary with the outer peripheral surface of the driving shaft part 49.
