PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for controlling the gas pressure of a coke oven chamber which causes no expansion-induced deviation resulting from high temperatures and temperature difference in coke oven chambers during operation.SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: a standpipe 2 connected to a gooseneck 4; a float cup 7; a sealing plug 8 travelling through a dip pipe 6 and sealing the discharge from a dip seal 7b of the float cup 7 into a gas collecting main pipe 14 arranged beneath in a controlled manner; and the gas conducting collecting main pipe 14 into which the water from the float cup 7 flows by opening of a water drainpipe or the sealing plug 8. The float cup 7 and the dip pipe 6 are contained in a fixed enclosure 9 which forms the float cup 7 and an annular space, the annular space 11 is suited as the water drainpipe and a gas passage 5 from the float cup 7 into the gas collecting main pipe 14, and the enclosure 9 is provided with an annular rim 9b extending into a circular embracing dip seal 12 on the gas collecting main pipe.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
