This suture device is provided with: a longitudinal axis member; an operating section; a gripping section; a suture needle; a first engagement member which engages the suture needle with a first gripping member; a second engagement member which engages the suture needle with a second gripping member; a first linear member which is connected to the first engagement member and the operating section and which switches the first engagement member and an engagement section to an engaged state or a disengaged state; and a second linear member which is connected to the second engagement section and the operating section and which switches the second engagement member and the engagement section to an engaged state or a disengaged state. The first linear member and the second linear member intersect the center axis of the longitudinal axis member at a position between the gripping section and the distal end of the longitudinal axis member, are inserted through an insertion passage, and are connected to the operating section. |
