PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for capable of preventing defects such as marks on a strip edge as well as secondary contamination of strip due to outflow of solution by automatically controlling the brush roll according to width and thickness of strip in spaces in upper and lower parts of the roll that are not contacted with a brush roll, thereby uniformly abrasing the brush roll. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing partial abrasion of brush roll(220) for cold rolled strip cleaning comprises supporting blocks(160) installed adjacently to both ends of the brush roll that cleans a strip(14); a screw shaft(170) which is laid across the supporting blocks, on which screw threads are formed such that the screw threads are oppositely directed to both ends of the screw shaft from the center of length of the screw shaft, and which are rotated by a screw driving motor(162); moving blocks(150) engaged with the screw shaft by being inserted onto the screw shaft; drum bases(140) fixed to bent upper parts of the moving blocks; rotary drums(130) which are rotatably connected to the drum bases, and on the outer circumferential surface of which fixed plates are formed; and edge plates(110) which are removably connected to the fixed plates and diversely formed at a size corresponding to a distance from an edge of the strip to an end part of the brush roll per width and thickness of the strip.
