A mobile communication terminal having a function for transmitting a message by using emoticons and an operating method thereof are provided to generate animation emoticons by combining a plurality of user emoticons, thereby generating the animation emoticons of various types. A mobile communication terminal having a function for transmitting a message by using emoticons comprises the followings: an input unit(20) for inputting data; a memory(40) storing emoticon data and animation emoticon data; and a controller(10) which generates animation emoticon by combining a plurality of emoticons, and enables the generated animation emoticon to be inserted into a text message before being transmitted. |
