<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device that can be operated at high efficiency to the utmost, while satisfying harmonic restrictions by reducing a harmonic component of a current waveform of single-phase AC input, without having a large capacity reactor, along with controlling a current to minimum. <P>SOLUTION: A voltage/current generated by rectifying a single phase AC power supply 101 with a first rectifier circuit 102 is set directly as input to an inverter 106; and by having calculation of applied voltage to a motor 109 executed by using a voltage smoothed by a second rectifier circuit 103 and a first capacitor 104, the applied voltage to the motor 109 is substantially synchronized with the voltage waveform of the single-phase AC power supply 101 and the current waveform of the single phase AC power supply is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
