<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate an accurate correction value to density irregularities even if a scanner does not work normally. <P>SOLUTION: A pattern is formed when a printer repeats the action of forming a band comprised of a plurality of raster lines along a predetermined direction and the action of conveying a medium by a first conveyance amount in a direction that intersects the predetermined direction. At the time of calculating the correction value by making the scanner read the pattern and correcting a read tone value on the basis of an approximate straight line calculated with a part of a plurality of the read tone values acquired for every pixel row being made a calculation range, the band is formed by conveying the medium in the intersection direction by a second conveyance amount smaller than the first conveyance amount. The pattern has a plurality of the bands arranged in the intersection direction. The pixel row corresponding to a boundary of the bands is made a boundary pixel row. An interval between a downstream pixel row as the pixel row of the most downstream side in the calculation range and a first boundary pixel row located on the upstream side more than the downstream pixel row is equal to an interval between an upstream pixel row as the pixel row of the most upstream side in the calculation range and a second boundary pixel row located on the downstream side more than the upstream pixel row. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
