PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable wearing article including a fastening tape which can be easily detached from a target tape and is hardly detached by an improper operation or mischief of a wearer.SOLUTION: A fastening area 72 of a fastening tape 7 has a square shape in a plane view including a pair of horizontal sides 7y, 7y and a vertical side 7x continuing to the horizontal sides. A peripheral portion of the fastening area 72 is a fastening part 73. In a target tape 8, a fastening target part 83 and a no fastening target part 84 in a linear shape in a plane view are extended alternately in a vertical direction X and in a stripe shape in a horizontal direction Y, and a grip formation part 85 is arranged which is composed of the fastening target part 83 and no fastening target parts 84 positioned on both sides in a width direction while sandwiching the fastening target part. The vertical side 7x of the fastening area 72 has a longer length in the vertical direction than the grip formation part 85.
