ARTICLE CONVEYANCE CONTAINER LIFTING AND LOWERING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container lifting and lowering device capable of automatically detecting whether or not stacking operation of a container is properly executed at the time of delivery of the container.SOLUTION: A container lifting and lowering device 2 has at least two pairs of container holding means 20A and 20B which move an article conveyance container C up and down by holding the same from both sides. The container holding means can be moved: up and down in conjunction with each other; and in front-back and lateral directions so as to get close to or away from the container. Each container holding means has a sensor 47 which is installed at a position close to a lower edge thereof and detects an elevation of an uppermost edge of the stacked container C during lifting operation after the delivery of the container C to be stacked. The container lifting and lowering device determines an abnormal posture of the stacked container C through comparative operation between detection values of the upper edges of the stacked containers detected by the sensors 47 and normal values for the upper edges of the stacked containers calculated on the basis of the height of the container C to be handled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
