PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrating piece which enables reduction of deterioration in electric characteristics.SOLUTION: A vibrating piece 100 according to the present embodiment includes a crystal substrate 10 which has a plane including an X axis and a Z' axis as a principal surface and has a thickness in a direction along a Y' axis. The crystal substrate 10 has: a first region 14 which thickness shear vibrates; a second region 12 which has a thickness thinner than that of the first region 14; a pair of first projections 30a, 30b (30c, 30d) provided on a free end side of the second region 12 and on both sides of a central region; and second projections 40a, 40c which are provided between a pair of electrode pads 24a, 24b provided on a mount side of the second region 12 and arranged beside the first region 14 and in a direction along the X axis. When assuming that a length along the X axis of the second projections 40a, 40b is Lx and a wavelength of bending vibration of the crystal substrate 10 is λ, a relation represented as follows is satisfied: λ/2×(2n+1)-0.1λ≤Lx≤λ/2×(2n+1)+0.1λ (where n is a positive integer).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
