PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrating piece which enables reduction in equivalent series resistance.SOLUTION: A vibrating piece 100 according to the present embodiment includes a first region 12 which has a first part 15 and a second part 16 having a thickness thinner than that of the first part 15. In plan view, the second part 16 has a pair of first sides 16a along a Z' axis in plan view. The pair of first sides 16a overlap a pair of third sides A2 of a virtual quadrangle A which has four corners having angles equivalent with each other and includes a pair of second sides A1 along the X axis and a pair of third sides A2 along the Z' axis. The second part 16 has an outer edge part 2a which does not overlap at least two corners arranged side by side along the Z' axis out of the four corners in plan view, in which a contour of the outer edge part 2a is gentler than a contour of the corner 4a of the first part 15 in plan view. When a length of the outer edge part 2a along the X axis is R and a wavelength of bending vibration of a crystal substrate 10 is λ, a relation represented as follows is satisfied: 0.1<k<1.4 where R/(λ/2)=k.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
