PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a plumbing component, allowing for production of a molded article excellent in cavity balance and achieving both of creep resistance and freeze resistance, and to provided piping for fluid obtained by using the resin composition.SOLUTION: The resin composition for a plumbing component is provided that contains a polyarylene sulfide resin and a thermoplastic elastomer. The polyarylene sulfide resin can be obtained by a method including a step of reacting poly(arylene sulfonium salt) and aliphatic amide compound to obtain the polyarylene sulfide resin and has absorption peak in the range of 2910 cmto 2930 cmin an infrared absorption spectrum measured by an FT-IR spectrometry.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
