The utility model relates to light industry, for locking, at a set point thereon, long elastic items such as shoelaces, cords, bands, braids and other similar items which can be used in footwear, haberdashery and clothing, and also in engineering and in domestic use. The device consists of a base and side members connected to the base. The side members are directed towards each other and form a cavity with a longitudinal gap along the entire length thereof. The cavity is open at one end, and is closed by the end portions of the side members, with a gap therebetween, at the opposite end. Furthermore, the gap between the side members is designed so that it is sufficient to enable an elastic item to be passed through said gap, but has a cross dimension that is smaller than a bulge on the item. The open end of the cavity has dimensions which are sufficient to enable the unobstructed passage of an item with a bulge thereon into said cavity. The lock for long elastic items, which is characterized by its simplicity, can be made in the form of a single component and makes it possible to securely lock an elastic item at a selected point thereon when the item is moved along the length thereof. An experimental test of the functioning of the proposed lock has confirmed the functioning and effectiveness thereof. The proposed utility model can be recommended for use in the manufacturing of footwear, haberdashery and clothing, and also in engineering and in domestic use. |
