PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly adjust white balance even under a light source of poor color rendering properties in addition to a normal light source.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: imaging means; photometric means for photometry of light emission performed by light emission means capable of irradiating a subject, when the imaging means images the subject; color evaluation means for evaluating the hue of image data obtained by the imaging means; white detection means for performing white detection by varying, in accordance with a result of color evaluation by the color evaluation means a white detection area to extract therefrom white candidate pixels corresponding to the light emission means on the basis of the photometric result obtained by the photometric means; and white balance correction means for performing white balance correction, in accordance with a result of the white detection by the white detection area. |
