An apparatus and a method for accurately detecting a short-circuit in a circuit board are disclosed. The method for detecting a short-circuit in a circuit board in which at least two circuit pattern lines and a short-circuiting pattern line that short-circuits the two circuit pattern lines are laid is characterized in that a specified inspection signal is applied between the two circuit pattern lines; the current value of the inspection signal flowing through the two circuit pattern lines and the short-circuiting pattern line is measured; a first current value of the inspection signal measured and a second current value of the inspection signal pre-recorded for a normal reference circuit board are compared; and if the first current value differs from the second current value, it is judged that a short-circuit exists between the two circuit pattern lines.
