METHOD FOR COLORING EDIBLES WITH AN EDIBLE CONCENTRATED COLORANT SOLUTION

A color coat is formed on a mass of edible centers, such as uncoated edible centers, sugar shelled edible centers or film coated edible centers, by applying an edible concentrated colorant solution onto the surface of the edible centers, where the edible concentrated colorant solution contains no more than about 75 percent by weight sugar. The edible concentrated colorant solution may be applied in a coating pan, a coating tube, or fluidized bed, or by air brushing or spraying.
