The brewing device which uses coffee pods has the base (7) of the pod tray (5) movable relative to the bearing edge (6) surrounding same from a first position for adding one pod to a second position for holding two or more pods. The displacement path is such that in the second position the bearing edge is positioned so that the sealing edge of the uppermost pod is held flat relative to the base of the tray. the base of the tray can be a constituent part of a disc-like adjustable support which can be moved between the positions by a rotary handle coupled to a threaded mechanism.
