PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in the conventional art which cannot specify a user who forgets to pick up an original or a printed matter from an image forming apparatus after its use. SOLUTION: In printing operation, an image for identifying an operator such as an operator's face image is acquired (at S203), and the image is registered together with index information such as a feature amount extracted from a printed image (at S206). The image is read from a medium on which it is necessary to determine the owner of the original (at S1203), search is conducted from the index information registered in the past printing processing (at S1204), and an image of an operator most likely to be the owner of the original is outputted (at S1206).
