PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording-reproducing device which perform dubbing processing by effectively using time when reserved recording is not programmed, and to reduce a predetermined time until an end of dubbing. SOLUTION: A recording-reproducing device has an accepting means 101 accepting a recording start time of content and a recording end time, a storing means 109 storing information accepted, a recording-reproducing means 104 recording and reproducing content data, a calculation means 201 calculating a dubbing time required with time at that point as a dubbing start time upon dubbing, a free time zone extraction means 202 extracting a free time zone except the time zone when a recording is programmed, a determination means 203 determining whether the dubbing processing is completed in the free time zone based on the dubbing start time and the dubbing time required, a schedule generating means 205 generating a dubbing schedule when the determination can not be performed, and a dubbing execution means 204 dividing content data by the dubbing schedule to be dubbed.
