PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone unit capable of grasping information on communication, or the like with a communicating party when a user performs speech communication and transmits and receives mail. SOLUTION: When the portable telephone unit receives the designation of the communicating party, the portable telephone unit decides communication-related information, namely information on communication with the communicating party, according to service information relating to service provided by a communication carrier to which an own telephone subscribes, and then informs the user of the decided communication-related information.
