An acceleration member (10) is disposed across a prescribed gap on an impregnation member (8) that is installed on the upstream end of a combustion chamber (30), an ignition device (22) and a first air supply port (24) are provided in an ignition space upstream from the acceleration member (10), and a second air supply port (28) is provided in a combustion space downstream from the acceleration member (10). Fuel is supplied to the smooth surface of the impregnation member (8), and at least part of the ignition device (22) is accommodated in a recess (8c) or notch (32) formed in the impregnation member (8). A configuration is adopted such that the flow of air supplied to the combustion space from the second air supply port (28) increases further downstream. This improves ignition performance in the evaporative-type burner (1), and minimizes incomplete combustion of fuel on the downstream side of the combustion chamber (30). |
