<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square battery with high quality having high battery capacity restrained from short circuit at its inside, and a manufacturing method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: An activator removing treatment is applied on a jointing base area 113 in advance on which a connection lead 110 is fixed by welding. The activator removing treatment can be applied, for example, by impressing an ultrasonic wave on a corresponding area by using an ultrasonic horn type peeling device or the like. A sponge form nickel as a three-dimensional porous base plate is exposed on a surface of the jointing base area 113 from which the activator is removed, to secure weldability of the connection lead 110. An N-shaped folding work is applied to a positive electrode plate 11 by folding the electrode plate toward an arrow mark with the center of folding areas 112a, 112b as a folding line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
