A device has a support that can resiliently and removably grip an edge portion of a member. In one embodiment of the device, a further portion on the support can operatively couple sensing structure to an electrical conductor portion on the support. A different embodiment of the device has on the support a further portion with circuitry coupled to a wireless communication portion on the support. Another embodiment of the device has structure on the support, and the member is a movable door. Another embodiment involves a container security system with a container interior light sensing portion responsive to visible light. A different embodiment involves a monitoring device with a support, a movable door-engaging member, and a detection portion responsive to movement of the member. The support may be configured to be supported on an edge portion of a door. Alternatively, the monitoring device may include circuitry responsive to the detection portion and coupled to a wireless communication portion of the device. |
