A method of stably adding a hydrophobic antifoaming agent highly effectively acting on electrodeposition paint to an electrodeposition paint. There is provided a method of adding an antifoaming agent into a cationic electrodeposition paint, characterized in that in the stage of addition of an antifoaming agent into a cationic electrodeposition paint, addition is made of a predispersion of the antifoaming agent in a pigment dispersion resin for cationic electrodeposition paint prepared in a proportion such that 5 to 1000 parts by weight of antifoaming agent (solid contents) is used per 100 parts by weight of pigment dispersion resin (solid contents).
