The present invention relates to the use of a stabilizing composition comprising (a) an effective stabilizing amount of at least one merocyanine derivative having an absorption maximum of 350 to 400nm, and (b) at least one UV filter selected from benzotriazole derivatives; and optionally (c) at least one excited state quencher; for the protection of body care and household products against the deleterious effects of light, heat and oxygen.
