PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically create a moving picture album or a still picture (photograph) album from a moving picture by automatically extracting an image incluging a recognized face. SOLUTION: A moving picture is acquired from a monitoring camera to determine a person in the moving picture. From the acquired moving picture, a moving picture including the person determined is extracted. Extracted moving pictures are seamed in order to create a moving picture album. A frame where the determined person is identifiable is created as a representative image and, by arranging representative images, a photographic album is created. Thus, it is possible to significantly reduce editing work for editing desired images, such as moving pictures and still pictures, as an album from a large amount of accumulated data.
