PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, when two photoreceptor drums are optically scanned alternately with light beams from a single light source, one of the photoreceptors from being optically scanned when only the other photoreceptor drum is optically scanned.SOLUTION: An optical scanner divides light beams emitted from a light source into plurality spatially with light beam dividing means 2203A, separates the respective light beams L1 and L2 obtained through the division temporarily with an optical deflector, and collecting each of the plurality of deflected light beams with a scanning optical system to perform optical scanning of a plurality of scanning target surfaces. The optical scanner further includes optical path opening/closing means 2110 and 2111 that are disposed on an optical path of the light beam L2 divided by the light beam dividing means 2203A and independently open and close the optical path, and control means that controls the opening and closing of the optical path by the optical path opening/closing means 2110 and 2111. |
