PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily implemented developer apparatus to increase the tribocharge of emulsion aggregation toners without substantial increase in the cost of materials or manufacture.SOLUTION: The developer apparatus includes a housing defining a chamber storing a supply of toner, and a developer roll 400 disposed in the chamber, the developer roll configured to rotate about a longitudinal axis to transport toner on a surface of the developer roll 400 to a development zone. The developer apparatus also includes a charge/metering blade 310 having a curved section configured to contact the surface of the developer roll so as to form an adjustable contact nip. |
