PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for manufacturing a binder which is obtained by hydrolysis of a polymer having an amide structure; a secondary battery electrode binder and a secondary battery electrode slurry which can offer an electrode superior in adhesion between a current collector and a mixture layer by making a solid content concentration a fixed value or more in hydrolysis; a secondary battery electrode; and a nonaqueous secondary battery.SOLUTION: A secondary battery binder of the present invention can be obtained by hydrolysis of a polymer having a structural unit expressed by the general formula (1). The solid content concentration in the hydrolysis of the polymer is 4.5 mass% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
