PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which automatically corrects unevenness of developer in a developing unit without burdening a driving system.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus operates as follows: reading an output signal of a toner concentration sensor of a developer (S1); if the signal indicates that there is an output (Yes in S2) and the output signal indicates a normal toner concentration range (Yes in S3), starting print processing (S4) and terminating the print processing normally; if the output signal indicates that there in no output (No in S2) or the output signal indicates an abnormal toner concentration range (No in S3), preliminarily agitating developer for a predetermined time (S5, S6); if the output signal of the toner concentration sensor indicates that there is an output (Yes in S7) and the output signal indicates the normal toner concentration range (Yes in S8), starting print processing (S4) and terminating the print processing normally; and if the output signal indicates that there is no output (No in S7) or the output signal indicates the abnormal toner concentration range (No in S8), notifying a user that "the developer in the developing unit is uneven" (S9), and terminating the processing abnormally. |
