PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a process load when a light-controlling process is performed on a 3D image in a display device.SOLUTION: A light valve control part 40 includes a 3D light-controlling information determining part 45 for generating a light-controlling amount in an image for the left eye and a light-controlling amount in an image for the right eye, based on a frame of image information input to an image information input part 31. The light valve control part also includes a 3D decoding part 46 for generating a frame for the left eye based on the image for the left eye and a frame for the right eye based on the image for the right eye. The 3D decoding part 46 synchronizes image information including the frame for the left eye and the light-controlling amount corresponding to the image for the left eye and outputs the synchronized information to a display liquid drive part 110a and to a light-controlling liquid crystal control part 110b. The 3D decoding part 46 synchronizes image information including the frame for the right eye and the light-controlling amount corresponding to the image for the right eye and outputs the synchronized information to the display liquid drive part 110a and to the light-controlling liquid crystal control part 110b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
