Provided is a high power mercury relay, comprising a heating chamber, first and second air channels, a control chamber and an airtight chamber, the heating chamber being connected to one end of the control chamber via the first air channel, and the airtight chamber being connected to the other end of the control chamber via the second air channel. A heating wire is provided in the heating chamber; a mercury column is located inside the control chamber and can move left and right therein. The control chamber is provided with three contacts: contact A, contact B and contact C; when there is no power, the mercury column is located at the side of the control chamber close to the heating chamber and connects to contact A and contact B; when there is power, the mercury column is located at the side of the control chamber close to the airtight chamber, and connects to contact B and contact C. The present invention uses the principle of thermal expansion and contraction of air to push a mercury column to move so as to complete a circuit, thereby achieving large-current transport. The present invention is convenient in design and manufacture, easily promotable, and has good application value. |
