PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle monitoring system which can output information about a vehicle and its surroundings to the outside of the vehicle with a simple construction.SOLUTION: A vehicle monitoring system comprises an on-vehicle unit mounted on a vehicle and a portable unit carried by a user, with the on-vehicle unit and the portable unit being capable of performing wireless communication. The on-vehicle unit includes: a detection part for detecting an illegal act to the vehicle; an imaging part for imaging the surroundings of the vehicle; an on-vehicle unit side storage part for storing image data imaged by the imaging part when an illegal act is detected; and a transfer control part which transfers the stored image data to the portable unit when a predetermined transfer condition is satisfied. The portable unit includes: an acquisition part for acquiring the image data; a portable unit side storage part for storing the acquired image data; and a notification part for performing notification corresponding to the content of the acquired image data. |
