<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can exert a printing throughput to the maximum within a range of allowable maximum power consumption for every configuration of a connected external equipment in an image apparatus which constitutes an MFP by combining input devices such as a printer and an image scanner. <P>SOLUTION: A recognizing means for recognizing the connected external equipment, and a setting means for setting the maximum allowable power consumption are provided. The maximum allowable power consumption is set on the basis of recognized external equipment information, and the heating of a fixing device is controlled within a range not to exceed this maximum power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
