<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoding concept of a parametrically encoded multi channel signals or to provide a coding concept for forming the signals. <P>SOLUTION: The decoding concept of a parametrically encoded multi channel signals comprises: a means for calculating a monaural signal by combining the left side channel with the right side channel of stereo signals; a means (403) for generating a 1st stereo parameter group using a part of the left side channel and a part of the right side channel beginning from a 1st time border, and mens (401, 402) for judging the efficacy of the 1st stereo parameter group corresponding to the following parts of the left and right channels, and the judging means generates a 2nd time border, and when the judging means judges the stereo parameter group as no longer effective, the means makes a generation means operate so that the generation means may generate a 2nd stereo parameter group to the parts of the left and right side signals beginning from the 2nd time border (401, 402). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
