摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and a manufacturing apparatus for an optical fiber, which is capable of easily adjusting the deviation in the thickness of each layer, in manufacturing an optical fiber having a structure covered with at least two coating layers. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the optical fiber comprises melting an optical fiber preform 1 with heat, drawing a bare optical fiber 2, and further coating the surface of the bare optical fiber 2 with two or more layers of coated layers (protective layers, polymer clad layers or a combination of these) sequentially by coating devices 12, 14 to make a primary coated optical fiber 3 wherein a fixing device 20 of a passing route of the optical fiber is provided between the coating devices 12 and 14 so as to adjusting deviation in thickness at each of the coating devices 12, 14 under the condition of fixing the passing route of the optical fiber 4 between the coating devices 12, 14 by the fixing device 20.
