PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunction device capable of making a color print of a color image and storing its file in a black-and-white form when receiving the color image through facsimile. SOLUTION: The multifunction device according to the present invention includes a facsimile apparatus capable of receiving the facsimile color image and a storage means of converting the received color image data into monochromatic image data and storing the monochromatic image data in a storage device. The multifunction device may be equipped with a means of making a color print based upon the color image data before the image conversion when the image data are stored in the storage device. Consequently, when the color image are facsimile-received, the color image can be printed in colors and its file is stored in the black and white form to unifiedly manage image data stored in files.
