PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp improved in a luminance maintenance rate while preventing degradation of initial luminance at the time of lighting. SOLUTION: In the fluorescent lamp 100 provided with a phosphor layer 104 on the inner surface of a glass bulb 101, at least one phosphor particle B of the phosphor layer 104 is europium activated barium-magnesium aluminate, and a content of impurities thereof is 0.1 [wt.%] or less with respect to the total weight of the phosphor particles.
