The arrangement has a clamping element (40) insertable into a channel (30) e.g. roof channel, and comprising a recess (46) complementary to a slot (36), which is formed in a longitudinal support (34). A tensioning element (50) is reinforced at a component (20) e.g. carrier body, to be fastened. The clamping element is moved in a moving direction, and is clamped against the support, by the tensioning element. The clamping element has a quadrangular cross-section, where a clamping force is transmitted between corresponding surfaces of the slot and the complementary recess under deformation.
